Binabantayang LPA, posibleng maging bagyo sa susunod na 48 oras

May dalawang low pressure area (LPA) na binabantayan ang PAGASA sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Ayon kay PAGASA weather specialist Joey Figuracion, ang isang LPA ay huling namataan sa layong 160 kilometers Silangang bahagi ng Tuguegarao City, Cagayan bandang 3:00 ng hapon.

Posibleng lumakas ang LPA at maging tropical depression sa susunod na 48 oras.

Sakaling maging bagyo, papangalan ito na “Helen.”

Maaaring agad itaas sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 1 ang ilang probinsya sa Northern Luzon.

Mula sa araw ng Linggo hanggang Lunes ng umaga, August 17, asahan aniya ang kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon at Quezon dahil sa LPA.

Samantala, ang isa pang LPA ay huli namang namataan sa layong 135 kilometers Kanluran Hilagang-Kanluran ng Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

Nakakaapekto naman ang Southwest Monsoon o Habagat sa Southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao.

Magdadala rin ito ng pag-ulan sa Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro at nalalabing bahagi ng Calabarzon.

Sa nalalabing bahagi naman ng bansa, asahan ang isolated rains bunsod ng localized thunderstorms.
