Voter registration, ipagpapatuloy na sa September 1
Ipagpapatuloy na ang voter registration sa bansa sa September 1, 2020 ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Sinabi ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez na ipagpapatuloy ang voter registration sa buong bansa maliban lamang sa mga lugar na nakasailalim sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) o modified ECQ.
Awtomatikong ibabalik ang voter registration kapag ibinaba ang quarantine classification sa general community quarantine (GCQ), modified GCQ o kung alisin na ang quarantine.
Awtomatikong isususpinde rin ang voter registration kapag ibinalik muli sa ECQ o MECQ.
Maaaring magsumite ng aplikasyon para sa registration tuwing Martes hanggang Sabado sa Office of the Election Officer (OEO) mula 8:00 ng umaga hanggang 3:00 ng hapon.
Hinikayat naman ng Comelec ang mga magpaparehistro na i-download ang application forms sa www.comelec.gov.ph.
“It is strongly recommended that downloaded forms be filled out before going to the COMELEC office for registration… but the forms should be signed only in front of the Election Officer, at the COMELEC office,” pahayag ni Jimenez.
Sinabi pa nito na magpapatupad ng anti-COVID precautions sa tanggapan ng Comelec.
Kabilang na dito ang paglilimita sa bilang ng mga papapasuking aplikante sa loob sa opisina ng Comelec upang matiyak na masusunod ang physical distancing.
Nakasuot din dapat ang bawat aplikante ng face mask at face shield, at hinikayat ang mga aplikante na magdala ng sariling ballpen.
“Registrants will also be required to fill out a ‘Coronavirus Self-Declaration Form’ which discloses information relating to travel, contact with people with known COVID-19 infection, and symptoms being experienced,” ayon pa kay Jimenez.
Hindi rin aniya papayagang makapasok ng opisina ng Comelec ang sinumang nakararanas ng sintomas ng nakakahwang sakit.
Dadaan naman sa express lane ang mga senior citizen, person with disabilities at buntis.
Siniguro rin na magsasagawa ng disinfection at decontamination sa lahat ng opisina ng Comelec kada araw.
