46 na tauhan ng BI nagpositibo sa COVID-19

Mayroong 46 na empleyado ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, sa 46 na nagpositibo, mayroon nang 9 na gumaling habang ang 37 pa ay pawang nagpapagaling pa sa government-accredited quarantine facilities.

“The good news is that, so far, none of our employees have succumbed to the virus,” ayon kay Morente.

Karamihan sa mga nagpositibo sa sakit ay nakatalaga sa BI main office sa Intramuros, Manila.

Habang ang iba pa ay nakatalaga sa international airports sa Pasay at Cebu, at sa satellite at extension offices ng BI.

“We are one of the few government agencies whose personnel render frontline services, not only in our offices, but in the ports of entry as well. It is unavoidable that some of our employees do come in contact or are exposed to persons who are carriers of this virus,” dagdag pa ni Morente.
