Information drive para sa enrollment dapat paigtingin ng DepEd

Iginiit ni House Deputy Majority Leader Bernadette Herrera na dapat paigtingin pa ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang kanilang information drive may kaugnay sa enrollment ng mga mag-aaral.

Ito aniya ay upang mabawi at mapababa ang nakaambang na milyung-milyong mag-aaral na hindi makakapasok ngayong school year 2020-2021.

Ayon kay Herrera, sa kabila ng anunsyo ng ahensya na palawigin ang petsa ng enrollment ay aabot sa 7 milyong mga estudyante sa elementary at high school ang hindi nakapag-enroll para sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng klase.

Sinabi ng kongresista na doble ang nasabing bilang sa 3.6 milyon na out-of-school-children and youth na naitala noong 2017.

Sa tala naman ng DepEd ay aabot lamang sa 20.7 million na mga estudyante mula sa public at private schools ang nag-enroll mula kindergarten hanggang high school o 74.6% ng 27.7 million na bilang ng mag-aaral na nagenroll noong nakaraang taon.

bagamat naiintindihan niya na matindi ang epekto ng pandemya sa edukasyon ng mga kabataan ay hindi naman ito sapat na dahilan para pabayaan ng DepEd na maraming mga estudyante ang hindi makakapag-aral ngayong taon. /
