Online child sexual abuse cases tumataas ayon kay Sen. Imee Marcos

Kasabay nang pag-iral ng enhanced community quarantine ang pagtaas ng bilang ng online child abuse cases sa bansa.

Ito ang puna ni Sen. Imee Marcos kaya inihain niya ang Senate Resolution 487 para imbestigahan ang ugat ng pag-akyat sa 260,000 ang kaso ng online child sexual abuse sa bansa simula noon Marso hanggang Mayo lang.

Sinabi ni Marcos, ang datos ay mula sa DSWD at DOJ.

Banggit niya, bininyagan na ang Pilipinas bilang sentro ng ‘live-stream sex abuse trade’ at kabilang sa mga nangungunang pinagmumulan ng child pornography sa buong mundo ayon naman ito aniya sa United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Pinansin ng senadora ang kabiguan ng telecommunications companies at internet service providers (ISPs) na iulat at gamitin ang teknolohiya na maaring pumigil sa live child pornography na iniaalok online.

“What preventive measures have our telcos and ISPs taken to block avenues of exploitation like online gaming, chat groups, phishing email and other unsolicited contact in social media? The government has relied more often on foreign authorities,” banggit ni Marcos.

Nangangamba ito na lalala pa ang sitwasyon habang nakakaladkad nang nakakaladkad ang pandemiya na labis na ipinaghihirap pa ng mga nasa laylayan ng lipunan.
