Distance learning office inihirit ni Sen. Tolentino
Nais ni Senator Francis Tolentino na magkaroon ng ahensiya para sa promosyon ng online and distance learning.
Inihain ni Tolentino ang Senate Bill No. 1459 o ang “An Act Establishing the Tertiary Online Learning and Distance Education Office” na aniya ay sasailalim sa pangangasiwa ng Commission on Higher Education.
“The said Office will not only serve as the lead agency for open distance learning but also prescribe minimum curriculum requirements for online and distance learning,” aniya.
Paliwanag pa ng senador ang inihihirit niyang ahensiya ang mangunguna rin sa pagbuo ng mga policy guidelines and quality standards para sa mas malawak na pagpapatupad ng online and distance learning, lalo na sa tuwing may kalamidad, national emergency at health crisis.
Ito rin, ayon pa kay Tolentino, ang pupuno sa Republic Act No. 10650 o ang “Open Distance Learning Act of 2014.”
Nakikita ng senador na paraan ito para hindi na kailangan pang huminto ng isang taon sa pag-aaral ang estudyante at hindi maantala ang pagtatapos nila dahil sa matinding takot sa COVID 19.
