Apela ng health workers sa gobyerno, muling ibalik ang Mega Manila sa ECQ

Umapela ang health workers sa gobyerno na muling isailalim sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) ang Mega Manila mula August 1 hanggang 15.

Ito ay dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng bilang ng mga tinatamaan ng Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) sa bansa.

Sa press conference ng Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), sinabi ni Philippine Medical Association (PMA) president Dr. Jose Santiago, magsisilbing “time out” ang ECQ para maplantsa pa ang mga ipinatutupad na control strategies para malabanan ang nakakahawang sakit.

Ilan aniya sa mga kailangang tugunan na kondisyon ang hospital workforce efficiency, failure of case finding and isolation, failure of contact tracing and quarantine, kaligtasan sa transportasyon at trabaho, social amelioration, pagsunod ng publiko sa self-protection at iba pa.

Sinabi pa ni Santiago na ginawa ang “distress call” dahil “overwhelmed” na ang healthcare system sa bansa.

Kailangan na rin aniyang kumilos dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas.

Naipadala na niya ang kanilang liham kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
