Libreng bakuna laban COVID-19 popondahan ng P20B ayon sa DOF

Aabot sa $400 million ang kailangang pondo para sa libreng bakuna kontra COVID-19.

Ayon kay Finance Sec. Sonny Dominguez, katumbas ito ng aabot sa P20 billion na pondo na kakailanganin ng pamahalaan.

Ani Dominguez, batay sa datos ng Department of Health (DOH) tinatayang 20 milyong katao ang target na makikinabang sa libreng bakuna kontra COVID-19.

Kung dalawang dose aniya bawat isang tao ay 40 milyong doses ng bakuna ang kailangan.

Sa ilalim ng proseso ng pagbili ng bakuna, kailangan aniya muna ang pag-abpruba ng Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) mula sa mga bansang lumilikha ng bakuna.

ang DOH naman ang pipili kung anong tamang bakuna ang bibilhin para sa Pilipinas.

Matapos ito ang Philippine International Trading Corporation na nasa ilalim ng DTI ang aatasan na gumawa ng procurement.

Hihilingin aniya sa Landbank at sa Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) na paglaanan muna ng pondo ang pagbili ng bakuna na babayaran ng pamahalaan sa loob ng 2 hanggang 3 taon.
