Electrical failure tinitignang dahilan sa pagkasunog ng isang passenger ship sa Cebu

Posibleng electrical umano ang dahilan ng sunog na naganap sa isang passenger ship habang naglalayag ito sa karagatang sakop ng Catmon, Cebu.

Sa incident report ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), sinabi ng kapitan ng M/V Filipinas Dinagat na electrical glitch ang pinagmulan ng sunog.

Sinabi naman ng PCG na magsasagawa pa sila ng mas masusing imbestigasyon sa nangyari.

“According to Captain Joel Villanueva, the fire onboard is caused by an electrical failure. The PCG will verify the information through proper investigation,” ayon sa PCG.

Ang roll-on-roll-off passenger ship ay pag-aari ng Cebu-based shipping firm na Cokaliong Shipping Lines Inc.

Patungo ito ng Palompon, Leyte nang mangyari ang sunog.

Ligtas naman ang lahat ng 45 na crew nito.
