Sen. Drilon: Paghandaan ang recession dahil sa COVID-19 crisis
Sinabi ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon na kailangang paghandaan na ang pagtama ng recession sa bansa dulot ng COVID-19 crisis.
Aniya, krusyal ang susunod na anim na buwan para sa inaasam na pagbangon ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
Sinabi nito na nahaharap ang bansa sa recession dahil sa halos unang kalahati ng taon ay nawalan ng sigla ang ekonomiya bunga ng krisis.
“The Philippine economy contracted by 0.2% during the first quarter and the forecast for the second quarter is even worse,” aniya at idinagdag pa, “ This means that the next six months will be a question of how to survive. They say that to survive in today’s situation is already a success. We must be able to survive so that we can set the stage for economic recovery.”
Kasabay nito, ang paninisi sa Inter-Agency Task Force dahil sa kabiguan na maharap nang tama ang krisis pangkalusugan kayat marami ang nawalan ng trabaho at dumadami ang nagugutom.
Aniya, mahalaga na mailatag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang SONA sa Lunes ang mga gagawing hakbang ng gobyerno para sa pagbangon ng ekonomiya.
