Tumama ang malakas na lindol sa Timog na bahagi ng Alaska Peninsula bandang 6:12 ng umaga o 2:12 ng hapon (oras sa Pilipinas).
May lalim ang lindol na 28 kilometers.
Sinabi ng USGS na asahang makakaranas pa ng aftershocks matapos ang pagyanig.
