Pumalo pa lamang sa 27 percent ang bilang ng mga estudyante na nagpa-enroll sa mga pribadong eskwelahan ngayong taon.
Sa pulong ng Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease, iniulat ni Education Secretary Leonor Briones kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na kaunti na lamang ang mag aarla ngayon sa mga prinadong eskweahan dahil hindi na makayanan ng mga magulang na bayaran ang tuition fee dahil nawalan ng trabaho.
Lumipat na aniya ang mga estudyante sa mga pampublikong paaralan.
Nasa 347,860 lamang aniya ang nagpa-enroll ngayon sa mga pribadong eskwelahan.
“Ang ating problem is with the private school enrollees kasi only 27 percent have returned. And we now have this what I described as the phenomenon of private school students migrating to the public school. Ang latest number is 347,860. And this is because, Mr. President, the private schools have been affected by the downturn in the economy. Their parents who lose their jobs cannot already fund the studies of the students,” pahayag ni Briones.
