American Airlines nakatakdang magtanggal ng 25,000 na manggagawa

Aabot sa 25,000 empleyado ng American Airlines ang matatanggal sa trabaho simula sa October 1.

Nagpadala na ng memo sa kanilang mga empleyado sina American Airlines Chief Executive Doug Parker at President Robert Isom.

Nakasaad sa memo na kailangang gawin ang layoff dahil kailangang magsagawa ng cost-cutting ng kumpanya bunsod ng epekto ng pandemic ng COVID-19 sa ekonomiya.

Kabilang sa mga maaapektuhan ng layoff ang nasa 2,500 na piloto, 9,500 flight attendants, 3,200 maintenance staff at 1,000 reservations agents.

October 1 pa magiging epektibo ang layoff dahil ang mga US carriers na tumanggap ng government aid sa ilalim ng CARES Act ay hindi pwedeng magsibak ng empleyado hanggang September 30.

Noong nakaraang linggo ay nag-anunsyo din ang United Airlines na aabot sa 36,000 na empeyado nila ang mawawalan ng trabaho.
