Safety checks sa mga power barge iginiit

Hinimok ni Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor ang pamahalaan na magsagawa ng routine safety checks sa mga power barge ng mga private electricity producers.

Ito ayon sa mambabatas ay upang hindi na malit ang nangyaring oil spill sa baybayin ng Iloilo City.

Sinabi ng dating DENR secretary na kailangang isagawa ng Department of Energy at Philippine Coast Guard ang extentive at periodic safety checks sa mga power barge lalo na at ang karamihan sa mga ito ay luma na.

Bagama’t kinikilala anya nito ang kahalagahan ng mga mobile powerr stations upang matugunan ang problema sa kuryente sa bansa sabi ng kongresista dapat na ito ay properly maintaines at dumaan sa safety inspection dahil sa maaring idulot nitong pinsala sa kalikasan.

“We recognize the need for these highly mobile power stations to address recurring electricity shortages in some parts of the country,” giit ni Defensor.
