“Round-the-clock” work sa Bicol International Airport, ipatutupad simula sa Hulyo

Nakatakdang ipatupad ang “round-the-clock” construction work sa Bicol International Airport (BIA) simula sa buwan ng Hulyo.

Layon nitong maabot ang target completion date sa 2020 ng mga itinakdang priority facilities ni Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade.

Gagawin namang 24/7 ang konstruksyon sa airport development project simula sa Hulyo.

Hanggang June 24, 81 porsyento nang tapos ang Package 2A ng airport development project.

Sakop nito ang landside facilities, tulad ng Administration Building, Air Traffic Control Building, Crash Fire Rescue Building, at Maintenance Building.

Nasa 34 porsyento namang kumpleto ang Package 2B kung saan sakop ang pagsasagawa ng Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) at runway.

Nangako ang project contractor na si E.M. Cuerpo na makapagbigay ng karagdagang manpower para matapos ito sa loob ng 2020.

Sa ngayon, ang completion rate sa Bicol International Airport ay 66.61 porsyento na.

“It can’t be denied that the aviation sector has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic. That’s why it is important that we finish the airport at the soonest possible time as this will absolutely give the economy a boost. Gusto ko matapos ‘yan within the year dahil gusto na natin itong agad na mapakinabangan ng ating mga kababayan. As we ready for take-off, kung baga, dapat all systems go,” pahayag ni Tugade.
