Nahuli ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang hinihinalang Amerikanong pedophile na wanted sa Estados Unidos dahil sa umano’y sexual exploitation sa isang menor de edad na Filipino.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, naaresto si Michael Kent Clapper, 69-anyos, sa ikinasang joint operation ng mga operatiba ng BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU), Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) at Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 1 sa San Manuel, Pangasinan, araw ng Lunes (July 6).
Sinabi ni Morente na naglabas siya ng mission order para sa pag-aresto kay Clapper kasabay ng kahilingan ng US Embassy sa Manila.
Ipinaalam din ng embahada na paso na ang US passport ni Clapper.
Dahil dito, isa nang undocumented alien si Clapper kung kaya kailangang mapa-deport.
“He will be deported for being an undocumented and undesirable alien… “His continued presence here poses a serious risk to our Filipino children, anyone of whom could be his next victim,” pahayag ni Morente.
Batay pa sa travel database ng ahensya, huling dumating ang dayuhan sa bansa bilang turista noong March 26, 2019.
Sa ngayon, nananatili si Clapper sa San Miguel police headquarters habang hinihintay ang resulta ng swab test nito para sa COVID-19.
Sakaling lumabas na negatibo sa nakakahawang sakit, dadalhin si Clapper sa BI Warden Facility sa Bicutan, Taguig City habang hindi pa napapa-deport.
Mapapasama na rin ang dayuhan sa Immigration blacklist at hindi na papayagang makapasok muli ng Pilipinas.
