Unified cashless toll payment sa mga expressway, isinusulong

Isinusulong ni Valenzuela Rep. Wes Gatchalian na gawing cashless ang pagbabayad ng toll sa mga expressway.

Base sa House Bill 6119 ni Gatchalian, nais nito na gawing unified cashless collection ang payment system sa mga expressways upang wala nang contact sa pagitan ng mga biyahero at toll collectors.

Sa ilalim ng panukala ay oobligahin ang lahat ng toll collection facilities sa mga expressway sa bansa na gumamit ng teknolohiya at electronic toll collection (ETC) programs.

Binibigyang mandato ang Department of Transportation (DOTR) sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) na lumikha ng multi-protocol radio frequency identification (RFID) at National Electronic Toll Collection System (NETCS) na gagamitin para sa cashless payment.

Sa ganitong paraan, maiwasan aniya ang physical contact at pagkahawa ng COVID-19.

Paliwanag ng kongresista, kung gagawin ang cashless payment sa toll ay maiiwasan din ang cross-border transmission o pagtawid ng coronavirus disease mula sa infected na lugar sa COVID-19 free na probinsya.
