Metro Manila, epicenter pa rin ng COVID-19 – DOH

Sa kabila nang pagsirit ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID 19 sa Cebu City, nanatili pa rin ang Metro Manila na sentro ng nakakamatay na sakit, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).

Ang pahayag na ito ayon kay Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire ay base sa obserbasyon ng mga eksperto.

Dagdag pa niya, may mga nakikita din silang sumisibol na bagong ‘hotspots’ sa ilang bahagi ng bansa dahil sa dumadaming kaso ng COVID 19.

“We try to analyze again after maybe two weeks but for now, it is still NCR… and Cebu is just one of those hotspots or areas of specific focus now for DOH,” aniya.

Sinabi nito na inoobserbahan nila ang ilang lalawigan sa Mindanao dahil sa pagdami ng mga kaso at nabanggit niya ang Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, at Misamis Occidental.

“Sa pinaka-basic definition ng hotspot, kahit na isang kaso lang ang lumabas in a place where there is no previously identified confirmed case–hotspot ka na,” paliwanag nito.

Isa aniya sa maaring dahilan nang pagdami ng kaso ay ang galaw ng mga tao kung saan may ‘community transmission.’
