Muling iginiit ng multi-sector group, Liga Independencia Pilipinas (LIPI) ang panawagan na suportahan ang inaprubahang Anti-terror Bill.
Ayon kay LIPI Secretary General Jose Antonio “Ka Pep” Goitia, kapag ganap nang naisabatas ang Anti-terror Bill ay matitigil na rin ang karahasan at kaguluhan, maging ang mga pag-atake ng mga teroristang grupo lalo ngayong panahon ng pandemic.
Sinabi ni Gotia, na batay kay Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff, General Felimon Santos Jr. na patuloy ang pag-stake ng mga teroristang grupo lalo na ng Abu Sayyaf sa ilang bahagi ng bansa. “The unwanted presence of ASG members in Metro Manila and the timely neutralization of government forces proves that terrorists groups knows no pandemic nor peoples suffering in the country or anywhere in the world.”
Aniya, ang Anti Terror Bill (ATB) ang siyang pinakamahalaga at aktuwal na preemptive measure para hindi maisakatuparan ang terrorist act.
Karapatan aniya ng mga Filipino ang kalayaan laban sa tyranny, oppression, violence, killings of innocents, at ang matagal nang armed insurgency dulot ng mga communist groups, Islamic extremists, at iba pangrebel organizations sa bansa.
Ang Liga Independencia Pilipinas (LIPI) ay isang patriotic coaltion ng 48 national organizations sa buong bansa.
Samantala, sinabi rin ni Goitia na ang pinakahuling Pahayag ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson sa Terror Bill na naiwasan sana ang Marawi Siege kung napaaga lamang ang paghahain ng panukalang batas at implementasyon nito, ay sapat nang patunay para sa agarang pagsasabatas ng Anti -Terror Bills.
“Had this measure been in effect earlier instead of the 2007 Human Security Act, the Marawi Siege could have been prevented. For one, a new feature under this bill is to make punishable inchoate offenses, something not present under the present Human Security Act of 2007,” Sabi ni Lacson sa kanyang statement.
