Nakauwi na ng Pilipinas ang 425 stranded overseas Filipinos sa South Korea, araw ng Martes (June 23).

Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), matagumpay na pinangasiwaan ng Philippine Embassy sa Seoul ang repatriation ng mga overseas Filipino.

Nakauwi ng bansa ang mga Pinoy sa pamamagitan ng dalawang special flights na Korean Air KE 623 at Asiana Airlines OZ 703.

Inayos ng Philippine Embassy sa Seoul ang dalawang special flights, katuwang ang DFA at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno tulad ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Manila International Airport Authorities (MIAA), kasama rin ang Korean Air at Asiana Airlines.

“We will continue to work hard to extend vital assistance to our nationals here in South Korea, including arranging special passenger flights for our stranded kababayans so they can be reunited with their loved ones back home,“ pahayag ni Charge d’Affaires, a.i. (CDA) Christian De Jesus.

Sa ngayon, nakapagpauwi na ang embahada ng mahigit 700 Filipinos mula sa South Korea.
