Equity subsidy para sa mga lalahok sa PUV Modernization dinoble ng DOTr
Dinoble ng Department of Transportation ang equity subsidy para sa mga operator na lalahok sa Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.
Base sa nilagdaang Department Order ni Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade mula sa dating P80,000 ay gagawing P160,000 kada unit ng modern dyip ang ibibigay na ayuda ng pamahalaan.
Ipagkakaloob ang nasabing equity subsidy sa mga PUV operators na may valid franchise.
Kasama rin dito ang mga PUV operators na nag aapply para sa bagong ruta sa ilalim ng Omnibus Franchising Guidelines.
Sabi ni Tugade, layunin nito na matulungan ang mga driver at operators na makaagapay sa transition ng mga luma at bulol na dyip patungo sa mga modern jeepneys lalo na ngayong panahon ng covid-19 pandemic.
Sabi ni Tugade, “Habang sumusulong tayo patungo sa pagbabago, ito ‘ho ang paraan namin para sabihing kaagapay ninyo kami sa Kagawaran ng Transportasyon. Contrary to the statements of other critics, we are here to assist and hear the concerns of all stakeholders. Especially now that we are gearing to a future wherein modernization will greatly benefit everyone, kailangan ‘ho natin ito”.
Kabilang sa mabibiyayaan ng pinataas na equity subsidy ay ang mga nag apply noon pang July 31, 2018.
“Retroactive ho ito. Ang ibig sabihin, kahit na nakakuha na ng previous amount, makukuha pa din ho ng driver o operator ‘yung balanse,” ani pa ni Tugade.
Welcome development namna ito para kay Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Martin Delgra at sinabing magiging daan ito uoang mas marami oang PUV drivers at operators ang lumahok sa PUV Modernization Program.
Pahayag ni Delgra, “More PUV operators and drivers can now participate in the PUV Modernization Program as they are assured of access to loans especially from government-run banks. We are assuring our PUV drivers and operators that the DOTr and the LTFRB are always here to support their movement towards modernization”.
