Monopolyo sa bakuna hindi dapat hayaan ng DOH

Suportado ng mga kongresista ang posisyon ng World Health Organization (WHO) sa pagkakapareho ng dalawang pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) sa merkado ngayon.

Kaya naman giit ni House committee on Health chairperson Angelina Tan, hindi dapat hayaang magkaroon ng monopolyo sa PCVs para hindi mapamahal ang Department of Health.

Sabi ni Tan, kung napatunayang parehong epektibo ang PCV10 at PCV13, kailangang dumaan ito sa bukas at competitive procurement process para makatipid ang gobyerno.

Ang pinakamalaking vaccination program na ito sa Pilipinas ay kasalukuyang sumasailal sa review ng Health Technology Assessment Council pagdating sa cost-effectiveness at comparability.

Sa inihaing resolusyon sa Kamara ni Ako Padayon partylist Rep. Adriano Ebcas, pinatitiyak ang pagpapatuloy ng ligtas na implementasyon ng National Immunization Program (NIP) para sa mga bata sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ito’y bilang suporta rin sa pagsisikap ng DOH na mapigilan ang outbreaks ng vaccine-preventable diseases at matiyak ang stable na supply ng mga bakuna.
