Sen. Risa Hontiveros humirit ng senate probe sa pagbubuwis sa online sellers

Naghain ng resolusyon si Senator Risa Hontiveros para maimbestigahan ng Senado ang mga ginagawang hakbang ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) para mabuwisan ang mga online sellers.

Sa inihain niyang Resolution No. 453 nais ni Hontiveros na maimbestigahan ang Revenue Memorandum Circular 60-2020 ng BIR na nag uutos sa mga online sellers na magpa-rehistro sa kawanihan at magbayad ng kinauukulang buwis.

Nakasaad din sa resolusyon ang hirit ni Hontiveros sa BIR na suspindihin hanggang sa katapusan ng taon ang memo.

“Magulo at mahirap sundin ang BIR memo, lalo na’t paiba-iba ang sinasabi ng mga ahensiya ng pamahaalan ukol dito. It is best for everybody’s interests if the BIR suspends the implementation of the memo until December 31, 2020, while government agencies review and craft better policy guidelines on how online entrepreneurs should register or pay taxes,” sabi ni Hontiveros.

Pinuna din nito ang gusto ng BIR na magtungo sa kanilang mga tanggapan ang mga online seller para magpa-rehistro sa katuwiran na delikado ito sa kalusugan ng lahat.
