280 na Pinoy mula North Africa naiuwi na sa bansa matapos ang halos 2 buwan na pag-asikaso ng DFA sa kanilang repatriation

Matapos ang halos dalawang buwan na pagproseso sa kanilang repatriation, naiuwi na rin sa bansa ang 280 na Pinoy mula sa Algeria, Libya, at Tunisia.

Ito ang kauna-unahang repatriation process na naisagawa ng Pilipinas mula sa nasabing mga bansa sa North Africa simula noong 2014 nang magkaroon ng conflict sa Libya.

Ayon sa Philippine Embassy sa Tripoli, sa nasabing bilang ng mga Pinoy, 227 ay mula sa Algeria, 39 mula sa Libya, at 15 mula Tunisia.

Dumating sila sa bansa sakay ng Philippine Airlines mula Tunis.

Ayon kay Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Elmer Cato, maituturing itong “largest” at “most complicated” na repatriation na naisagawa ng DFA mula North Africa simula noong 2014.

Inabot aniya ng halos dalawang buwan ang koordinasyon sa employers at gobyerno ng tatlong bansa.
