Palasyo naalarma na sa mataas na kaso ng karahasan sa mga kababaihan at kabataan sa panahon ng COVID

Aminado ang Palasyo ng Malakanyang na nakaaalarma na ang bilang ng naitatalang karahasan laban sa mga kababaihan at kabataan habang kinakaharap ng bansa ang problema sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, ito ang dahilan kung kaya may inilagay ng hotline number ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Philippine National Police (PNP) para may malag sumbungan ang nabibiktima ng karahasan.

Base sa ulat ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kongreso, 4,260 na kaso na ng pang-aabuso laban sa mga kababaihan at kabataan ang naitala sa buong bansa mula nang ipatupad ang enhanced community quarantine mula noong Marso dahil sa COVID-19.

Sa naturang bilang, 2,183 ang naitalang krimen laban sa mga kababaihan habang 2,077 naman sa mga kabataan.

Pangako ng palasyo, ipatutupad ni Pangulong Duterte ang batas para mabigyan ng hustisya ang nabibiktima ng karahasan.
