Gobyerno malamig sa pagpapabilis ng internet speed ayon kay Sen. Marcos
Inalmahan ni Senator Imee Marcos ang tila kawalan ng interes ng gobyerno na mapabilis ang internet speed ngayon nagpapatuloy ang pandemiya dulot ng COVID-19.
Nanawagan si Marcos sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na madaliin na ang pagpapabilis ng internet speed sa bansa at gawin itong prayoridad tulad ng pagbibigay halaga sa mga proyekto na kabilang sa Build-Build-build program.
“Let’s level up, DICT! The Philippines is Asia’s laggard when it comes to internet speed, at only 3.5 mbps. Upgrading the country’s digital capacity is urgent and long overdue,” sabi ni Marcos at tanong pa nito, “Whatever happened to the entry of a third telco player? The public eagerly awaits an update on the timelines of DICT’s programs.”
Banggit niya mabuti pa ang internet speed sa mga mas maliliit na bansa tulad ng Laos, Myanmar ant Cambodia, samantalang 22 ulit na mabilis ang internet speed sa Singapore at Hong Kong base sa Ookla Net Index.
Aniya ang masiglang ekonomiya ang pag-asa ng Pilipinas kapag nalagpasan ang COVID-19 sa hinaharap.
Banggit pa nito ang tagumpay ng gobyerno sa pagsasagawa ng contact tracing, online education, e-commerce at e-jobs, maging ang pagsugpo sa krimen at eleksyon ay nakadepende sa tinatawag na “digital infrastructure.”
