Textbooks hindi transistor radio ang kailangan – Sen. Recto
Sinabi ni Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto na mas kakailanganin ang kumpletong textbooks para sa online classes ng mga estudyante.
Katuwiran ni Recto, mas mahirap sa ikakasang online learning kung wala ng broadband, wala ng signal at wala pang libro.
“Broadband learning does not cancel the need for books. On the contrary– it makes it imperative. Hindi ibig sabihin na dahil via internet na, wala nang instructional materials,” sabi ng senador.
Batid ni Recto na hindi na sakop ng Department of Education o DepEd ang isyu sa internet speed ngunit saklaw nila ang pamamahagi ng mga libro.
“If we can print money, why can’t we print books? The ones public school students are using cost as little as P50. Kung may perang pang transistor radios, dapat mayroon ding pang libro,” aniya.
Ang isa pang pangamba ng senador ang bilang ng mga libro dahil paniwala niya, hindi sapat ang mga libro para sa ‘one book to one learner’ ratio.
Banggit nito, sa mga nakalipas na mga taon, simula 2017 bumaba ang budget ng Malakanyang para sa mga libro, mula sa P3 billon bumaba na ito sa P963 million.
