Plano ng PhilHealth na pagpapaliban sa Universal Health Care Law hindi kinagat ni Rep. Salceda

Sinopla ni House Committee on Ways and Means Chairman Joey Salceda ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation o Philhealth dahil sa plano nitong ipagpaliban ang implementsyon ng Universal Health Care Law.

Sabi ni Salceda, tutol siya sa balak at katwiran ng PhilHealth na ide-delay ang UHC Law dahil sa mababang koleksyon sa kontribusyon kaya hindi nito masakop o mabigyan ng subsidiya ang lahat ng mga benefit packages.

Minadali anya noon ng PhilHealth ang Kongreso na aprubahan ang UHC Law kaya dapat na gawin naman ng PhilHealth ang parte nito.

Kinwestyon din ng mambabatas kung nagamit ba ng tama ng PhilHealth ang kanilang reserved fund at kung may inilatag na bang mekanismo ang GOCC oara maiwasan ang anumang anomalya o iregularidad.

Gayunman, pinagsusumite ni Salceda ang PhilHealth ng alternatibong paraan bago sabihin na hindi nito kayang ipatupad ngayong 2020 ang UHC Law.

Nauna nang sinabi ni PHILHEALTH President and CEO Ricardo Morales na sa halip na P153 Billion ang pondong matanggap ng ahensya para sa 2020 ay P71.3 Billion lamang ang inilaan habang P46.5 Billion ang kanilang koleksyon sa premium contribution pero P52.5 Billion naman ang inabot sa kanilang benefit expenses.
