Accuracy ng lahat ng brand ng COVID-19 test kit ipinare-review sa DOH

Ipinare-review ni House Committee on Health Vice Chairman at Anakalusugan Partylist Rep. Michael Defensor sa Department of Health ang accuracy ng lahat ng brands ng COVID-19 tests na ginagamit sa bansa.

Ito ay kasunod ng ulat na ilang COVID-19 test kits ang umabot sa 20% ang ‘false-negative results’.

Ayon kay Defensor nakababahala ang ‘false-negative result’ dahil maaari itong makapagbigay ng maling impormasyon at katiyakan sa isang pasyente sa pag-aakalang wala silang impeksyon.

Sabi nito, nakapadelikdo kung totoo ang ulat dahil ang maling resulta sa COVID-19 tests ay maaaring makadagdag sa pagkalat ng sakit.

Ipinasasapubliko rin ni Defensor sa DOH kung ilan ng COVID-19 tests ang nagamit mula noong Marso at ilang tests ang inulit dahil sa false-negative results.

Giit ng mambabatas, dapat na ipatigil ng DOH ang paggamit ng mga ganitong klase ng COVID-19 tests at tiyakin ng ahensya na ang P1.9 Billion na pondo para sa COVID-19 screening ay mapupunta sa mga reliable at accurate na brands ng COVID-19 tests.
