Gastos ng pamahalaan kapag binuwisan ang online sellers mas malaki pa kaysa masisingil na buwis – Sen. Gatchalian
Mas magagastusan pa ang gobyerno kapag itinuloy ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na buwisan ang mga online sellers.
Ayon kay Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, vice chairman ng Senate economic affairs committee, kumpara sa masisingil na buwis sa online sellers ay maaring mas malaki pa ang gastusin ng gobyerno sa pag-monitor sa mga web-based merchants at pag-audit ng kanilang benta.
Ayon sa senador, mas mahal pa ang administrative costs ng registration, auditing at monitoring sa online sellers kaysa sa makukulektang buwis sa kanila.
Sa halip na habulin ang online sellers na maliit lang naman ang kinikita, sinabi ni Gatchalian na dapat habulin ng BIR P70 billion na hindi nababayarang buwis ng 24 na Chinese-owned online gambling companies o Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
