Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), karamihan sa kabuuang 125 Filipinos na nakauwi ay nagtatrabaho sa isang hydropower project company sa naturang bansa.
Apektado ang mga empleyado bunsod ng idinulot ng COVID-19 pandemic sa ekonomiya ng Laos.
Sinabi ng kagawaran na ito ang kauna-unahang repatriation flight mula sa Laos simula nang magkaroon ng COVID-19.
Maliban dito, sinalubong din ng DFA ang 265 Filipino seafarers ng Viking Cruises mula sa Norway.
