US, nag-donate ng P54.8-M halaga ng sustainment supplies sa BFP
Nag-donate ang gobyerno ng Estados Unidos ng $1.1 million o P54.8 milyong halaga ng sustainment supplies sa Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) National Headquarters sa Quezon City.
Ayon sa U.S. embassy sa Maynila, ito ay sa pamamagitan ng Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
Sinabi ng embahada na makatutulong ang supplies para matugunan ng BFP ang mandato bilang Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) response agency ng Pilipinas.
Isa rin kasi ang BFP sa primary agencies sa bansa na nagsasagawa ng decontamination at response activities sa gitna ng banta ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“DTRA and the BFP have a longstanding partnership to strengthen the Philippines’ capabilities to respond to CBRN incidents and conduct chemical inspections and decontamination operations,” ayon pa sa embahada.
Suportado rin ng DTRA ang BFP at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno sa Pilipinas para sa magpapabuti ng Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction capabilities.
