Welcome sa gobyerno ng Amerika ang desisyon ng Pilipinas na suspendihin ng termination ng Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).
“The United States welcomes the Philippine government’s decision,” batay sa inilabas na pahayag ng U.S. Embassy sa Maynila.
Sinabi ng embahada na umaasa sila sa mas matibay na security at defense cooperation kasama ang Pilipinas.
“Our long-standing alliance has benefited both countries, and we look forward to continued close security and defense cooperation with the Philippines,” ayon pa sa embahada.
Matatandaang sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. na ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang suspensiyon ng termination ng VFA.
