Termination ng VFA sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at US, suspendido – Sec. Locsin
Suspendido ang termination ng Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Amerika, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Sa Twitter, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. na ang suspensiyon ng VFA ay base sa direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honor to inform the Embassy that in light of political and other developments in the region,” nakasaad sa note na may petsang June 1.
Epektibo ang suspensiyon sa anim na buwan.
“The suspension shall start on even date and shall continue for six months, which period is extendible by the Philippines for another six months, after which the tolling of the initial period in Note Verbale No. 20-0463 dated 11 February 2020 shall resume,” dagdag pa nito.
