Temporary dormitories, itatayo para sa health workers sa Quezon Memorial Circle

Sa unang linggo ng Hunyo, sisimulan na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang konstruksyon ng temporary dormitories para sa healthcare workers sa Quezon Memorial Circle sa Quezon City.

Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, makatutulong ang ‘We Heal as One Offsite Dormitory’ sa health workers kasabay ng matinding paglaban sa COVID-19.

Ayon naman kay Undersecretary Emil Sadain, nag-inspeksyon na sa lugar kung saan planong itayo ang anim na offsite dormitories sa Quezon Memorial Circle, araw ng Sabado (May 30).

Pinangunahan ang inspeksyon ng DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Health Facility katuwang ang ilang representante mula sa Quezon City local government.

Ang offsite dormitories aniya ay para sa mga medical personnel na nagtatrabaho sa East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, V. Luna Medical Center at iba pa.

Maliban sa quarantine facilities, mahalaga rin aniyang bigyang-prayoridad ang kailangang accommodation facilities ng health workers para matiyak ang kanilang kaligtasan.

Natalakay na ang konsepto at plano sa pagtatayo nito kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Buo naman ang suporta ng alkalde sa inisyatiba ng DPWH.

Ayon sa kagawaran, sa isang off-site dormitory, kaya nitong mag-accomodate ng 32 medical personnel.

“Once no longer needed, the temporary dormitories can be disassembled and each of the components can be safely stored by DPWH for other related requirements such as temporary shelter during disaster/calamity response,” dagdag ng DPWH.
