International aviation gateways, palalawigin ng DOTr

Palalawigin na ang international aviation gateways sa bansa sa pagsailalim sa general community quarantine ng Metro Manila simula sa June 1.

Sa pulong kasama si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ipinaliwanag ni Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade na ito ay dahil concentrated sa ngayon ang international landing at takeoff sa Ninoy Aquino Internatinal Airport (NAIA).

Dahil dito, palalawigin aniya ang international aviation gateways kabilang ang Clark, Cebu, at Davao.

Kasabay nito, magtatayo aniya ng mga testing laboratories sa mga nasabing paliparan kung saan mayroon na aniyang matatapos sa Clark at Cebu.

“Ito po kapag nagawa ho ito, mahalaga ho ito kasi kung darating ho yung mga pasahero from international sa mga primaty gateways na ito, kailangan ho yung testing facilities nandodoon,” paliwanag ng kalihim.

Sinabi ni Tugade na katuwang ng DOTr dito ang Department of Health (DOH) at Philippine Red Cross (PRC) para para mapadali ang accreditation ng mga laboratoryo.

Dagdag pa nito, target din nilang dagdagan ang international aviation gateways sa iba pang probinsya.

“Hangarin po namin na kung sa pag-umpisa ng transition from MECQ to GCQ, hangarin po namin na every one or two weeks dagdagan ‘yung international gateways para mapasama ‘yung Zamboanga, Iloilo, Bacolod and Bohol,” ani Tugade.

“Mahalaga ho ito kasi this is one way of decongesting what is happening right now at NAIA Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4… Bear in mind that we are an archipelago and therefore it is imperative that we spread the aviation centrum of operations to other parts of the country, other parts of the region, kaya nga ho gagamitin ito,” dagdag nito.
