Dalawang nahuling Chinese sa ni-raid na underground hospital sa Pampanga, inilagay sa alert list ng BI
Inilagay sa alert list ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang dalawang Chinese nationals na nahuling naggagamot ng COVID-19 patients sa isang underground hospital sa Clark, Pampanga.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, layon nitong mapigilan na makaalis ng bansa ang dalawang dayuhan habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon sa insidente.
“We have placed them on our alert list to prevent them from leaving the country and ensure their presence while they are undergoing criminal and administrative investigation for their alleged offenses,” ani Morente.
Aniya, sakaling makita sina Liu Wei at Hu Shiling sa anumang paliparan sa bansa, hindi papayagan ang dalawa na makaalis.
Sa halip, ire-refer ang dalawa sa BI intelligence and legal divisions para sa imbestigasyon.
Naaresto sina Liu at Hu makaraang i-raid ng mga otoridad ang Fontana Leisure Park noong May 19.
Ngunit, napalaya ang dalawa sa kaparehong araw dahil wala pang naisasampang kaso laban sa kanila.
Sinabi naman ng ahensya na nagsasagawa rin sila ng hiwalay na imbestigasyon sa Chinese nationals na nahuli sa isa pang underground hospital sa Makati City noong Martes, May 26.
“I have instructed our Intelligence Division to investigate if these alleged Chinese doctors are legally staying in the country. Should we find they violated our immigration laws, they will be charged them with deportation cases before our law and investitgation division,” ani Morente.
Ipinag-utos din aniya sa BI intelligence operatives na hanapin ang apat na Chinese COVID-19 patients na sumalang sa treatment nang i-raid ang clinic sa Clark.
“Even if no criminal charges were filed against them, they can be charged for immigration law violations if we can establish that they violate the conditions of their stay in the country,” dagdag pa nito.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni BI Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. na inaalam din nila kung may koneksyon ang dalawang clandestine facilities at Chinese operators nito.
