Task group para sa mga paalis at pauwing OFW, binuo ng DOLE
Bumuo ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ng task group para tutukan ang mga paalis at pauwing overseas Filipino workers mula sa iba’t ibang quarantine facilities.
Ipinag-utos ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ang designation ng karagdagang tauhan mula sa regional at attached agencies ng kagawaran para mapaigting ang manpower requirement ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Layon nitong masiguro ang maayos na pagbiyahe ng mga OFW mula sa quarantine facilities patungo sa kani-kanilang tahanan.
Ikinasa ang nasabing hakbang kasunod ng direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na mapabilisin ang pagpapauwi sa lahat ng OFW na negatibo sa COVID-19 base sa RT-PCR testing ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Nilinaw din ng kalihim na hindi intensyon ng gobyerno na mapahaba ang pananatili ng ilang OFW sa quarantine at magkaroon ng delay sa test results.
“DOLE and OWWA simply had no control over the testing and issuance of clearances,” dagdag pa nito.
Maliban dito, bumuo rin ng hiwalay pang task group para mapabilis ang proseso ng outbound land at sea-based workers sa mga bansang naialis na ang restrictions sa employment sa foreign workers.
“We are doing this so as we don’t lose the jobs for our OFWs, while at the same time we help facilitate the quick homecoming and be of assistance to our returning workers,” pahayag ni Bello.
Magsisilbi naman bilang monitoring offices ang ‘hatid-probinsya’ at ‘balik-abroad’ task groups para sa onsite OFWs at sa mga nangangailangan ng repatriation.
