Coast Guard personnel patay, 6 pa ang sugatan nang maaksidente ang sinasakyan nilang van sa Batangas

Patay ang isang coast guard personnel habang sugatan ang anim na iba nang maaksidente ang sinasakyan nilang multipurpose van kahapon (May 26) sa Batangas.

Sa incident report na inilabas ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), sumabog ang gulong ng sinasakyang van ng kanilang mga tauhan sa STAR Tollway sa Ibaan, Batangas.

Galing ng PCG District – Southern Tagalog sa Sta. Clara, Batangas ang mga tauhan ng Coast Guard at patungo dapat sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) para tumulong sa “Bayanihan Repatriation” program ng pamahalaan sa mga overseas Filipino workers.

Idineklarang dead on arrival sa Batangas Healthcare Specialists Medical Center si Coast Guard Apprentice Seaman (ASN) Cenen Epetito.

Habang si Coast Guard ASN Adrian Añonuevo ay nagtamo ng minor hematoma at nananatiling nasa ICU ng ospital.

Pawang nasugatan din sina Seaman Second Class (SN2) Pacifico Casipi, SN2 Erdie Rojales, ASN Rouin Alvarez, ASN John Kristopher Mojica, at Candidate Coast Guard Man (CCGM) McLester Saguid.

Tiniyak naman ng coast guard na pagkakalooban ng tulong ang pamilya ni Epetito na nasawi sa kasagsagan ng pagtulong sa laban ng bansa kontra COVID-19 pandemic.

Ang mga nasugatan naman ay tutulungan sa kanilang kinakailangag medical treatment hanggang sa tuluyan silang gumaling at makabalik sa serbisyo.
