Pangulong Duterte bibigyang kapangyarihan ng senado para baguhin ang petsa ng pagsisimula ng klase – Drilon

Bibigyang kapangyarihan ng Senado si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magtakda ng petsa sa pagsisimula ng School Year 2020-2021.

Sa ilalim kasi ng Republic Act 7977 nakasaad na ang unang araw ng pagsisimula ng klase ay hindi dapat lalagpas sa buwan ng Agosto.

Ayon kay Senator Franklin Drilon, nilagdaan niya ngayong umaga ang committee report na magbibigay ng kapangyarihan kay Pangulong Duterte upang magdesisyon kung anong petsa bubuksan ang klase.

Sinabi ni Drilon na pangunahing prayoridad ngayong may pandemic ng COVID-19 ang kaligtasan ng mga estudyante.

Bagaman kahanga-hanga aniya ang mga hakbang ng Department of Education (DepEd) para sa pagkakaroon ng online learning, virtual classes at hybrid classes ay marami pa ring estudyante na walang access sa internet.
