QC LGU nakipagtulungan sa pribadong sektor para sa rapid testing sa ilang barangay

Nakipagtulungan ang Quezon City government sa mga pribadong sektor para sa pagsasagawa ng rapid testing sa ilang barangay sa lungsod.

Ayon sa QC LGU, layon nitong paigtingin ang hakbang kontra sa COVID-19.

Nakatanggap ang lungsod ng 3,800 rapid antibody-based diagnostic test (RDTs) kits mula sa Project Ark para masuri ang mga residente mula sa piling barangay.

Nagpasalamat naman si Mayor Joy Belmonte sa inisyatiba ng Project Ark para sa intensive community testing sa lungsod.

Noong May 18, nasa 1,500 rapid tests ang naisagawa sa apat na barangay kabilang ang Immaculate Concepcion, Kristong Hari, Kalugusan, at Dona Aurora.

Napili ang mga nabanggit na barangay base sa populasyon, aktibong kaso, at attack rate ng COVID-19.

Marami ring health workers na nakatira sa mga nasabing barangay.

Sa 1,500 residente, nasa 0.33 porsyento lamang ang nagpositibo sa IgM.

Nakuhanan ng swab ang mga residente sa pamamagitan ng polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test para sa kumpirmasyon. Dinala rin ang mga ito sa HOPE facilities habang hinihintay ang PCR results.

Samantala, 0.87 porsyento naman ang nagpositibo sa IgG.

Ayon naman kay Joseph Juico, project manager para community testing, kailangan pa ring sundin ng IgG positive residents ang health protocols.

“Just because they turned out positive for IgG only and negative for IgM, does not make them invincible to the virus. That is why we still strongly recommend them to be cautious and practice health protocols such as disinfecting, wearing masks, and social distancing,” paliwanag nito.

Idiin naman ni Belmonte ang kahalagahan ng PCR test upang masiguro ang resulta ng mga pagsusuri.

“PCR testing plays a major role because at the end of the day, it is still the gold standard of testing,” sinabi ng alkalde.

“With the combination of rapid testing, swab testing and the lockdown of these areas, we are amplifying the detection and mitigation of the virus,” dagdag pa ni Belmonte.
