Umabot sa 43 degrees Celsius ang pinakamataas na heat index na naitala sa Metro Manila kahapon, araw ng Martes, May 19.
Ayon sa PAGASA, naitala ang 43 degrees Celsius na heat index sa PAGASA Science Garden ala 1:50 ng hapon.
Sa parehong oras, naitala ang maximum na temperatura na 34.6 degrees Celsius.
Paalala ng PAGASA ang mataas na heat index ay delikado sa kalusugan ng publiko at maaring magdulot ng heat stress.
Ugaliin ang madalas na pag-inom ng tubig at iwasan ang physical activities sa tanghali at hapon.
