Heat index sa Metro Manila, pumalo sa 42 degrees Celsius
Maalinsangan at matindi ang naramdamang init ng panahon sa Metro Manila, araw ng Lunes (May 18).
Ayon sa PAGASA, pumalo sa 42 degrees Celsius ang heat index sa bahagi ng Science Garden, Quezon bandang 11:00 ng umaga.
Umabot naman sa 34.0 degrees Celsius ang naitalang maximum temperature sa lugar.
Ayon sa weather bureau, mapanganib ang dulot kapag umabot sa 41 hanggang 54 degrees Celsius ang heat index dahil sa sobrang init, maaari itong magdulot ng heat cramps at heat exhaustion na posibleng mauwi sa heat stroke.
Payo ng PAGASA, dalasan ang pag-inom ng tubig at iwasan ang anumang physical activities tuwing tanghali at hapon.
