Mga OFW na tumakas sa quarantine facilities dapat arestuhin ayon kay Sec. Locsin

Nanawagan si Foreign Affairs Sec. Teodoro Locsin Jr., sa mga otoridad na arestuhin ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na tumakas mula sa quarantine facilities na minamanduhan ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Ayon kay Locsin, ang unang hakbang na dapat gawin ay arestuhin ang mga tumakas, magsagawa ng contact tracing sa mga nakasalamuha nila sa ginawa nilang pagtakas at isailalim sa test ang lahat ng nagkaroon ng contact sa kanila.

Una nang sinabi ni PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo, ilang OFWs ang umalis sa kanilang quarantine facility bago lumabas ang resulta ng tests sa kanila.

Ilan sa mga tumakas ay kalaunan nagpositibo.

Maari aniyang makasuhan ang mga ito ng paglabag sa Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

Lahat ng OFWs na umuuwi sa bansa ay sumasailalim sa mandatory na 14 na araw na quarantine.

Isinasailalim din sila sa COVID-19 test bago mapayagang makauwi sa kanilang tahanan.
