Gobyerno, puspusan pa rin para taasan ang COVID-19 testing capacity sa bansa – Palasyo

Aminado ang Palasyo ng Malakanyang na bigo ang Department of Health (DOH) na maabot ang target na 8,000 na testing capacity kada araw simula noong April 30 para sa mga taong hinihinalang tinamaan ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, puspusan na ang ginagawa ng pamahalaan para taasan ang testing capacity.

Ito rin aniya ang dahilan kung kaya itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Secretary Vince Dizon bilang Testing czar.

“Unang-una po, hindi ko madidispute na medyo hindi natin nakamit yung goal na by April 30, meron nang 8,000 na daily testing ang DOH, nadelay po tayo,” pahaayg ni Roque.

Ayon kay Roque, sa ngayon, mayroon ng 28 testing centers sa bansa kabilang na ang mega swabbing facilities.

Target aniya ng pamahalaan ngayon na makamit ang 30,000 daily tests gamit ang PCR.

Bukod dito, sinabi ni Roque na may ginagawang hakbang na rin ang pribadong sektor sa pamamagitan ng Project Ark kung saan target na magamit ang isang milyong rapid test para sa kanilang mga empleyado at mga nakapaligid na negosyo.

“Ang gobyerno po bukod sa 30,000 a day, ninanais natin na 900,000 PCR tests ang magawa at ang gobyerno alone is aiming for 2.2 million rapid test kits. Combined po, we’re hoping that we will eventually upgrade and improve our testing capacity kasi it is only through testing na malalaman natin kung nasaan ang kalaban,” pahayag ni Roque.
