Mahigit 4,600 na preso nakinabang at napalaya sa inilunsad na online hearings

Simula noong April 30, 2020 nang ilunsad ng Korte Suprema ang pagdaraos ng online hearings, mahigit 4,600 na preso na ang nakinabang.

Ayon sa Supreme Court Public Information Office (PIO) ginawa ang pilot testing ng videoconferencing para sa pagdaraos ng mga pagdinig dahil sa pandemic ng COVID-19.

Simula noong April 30 hanggang May 8, umabot na sa 4,683 na persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) ang nakalaya matapos mabasura ang kanilang kaso o ‘di kaya ay ma-reduce ang kanilang bail.

Ang videoconferencing ay naumpisahan sa Baguio City, Metro Manila, Cebu City, at ilan pang lungsod sa Mindanao.

Sa mga susunod na buwan maidaraos na rin ito sa mas marami pang korte sa bansa.
