PCOO pumalag sa paratang ng international media na si Pangulong Duterte ang nasa likod ng pagpapasara sa ABS-CBN

Pumalag ang Presidential Communications Operations Office sa ulat ng ilang international media na si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang nasa likod ng pagpapasara sa ABS-CBN.

Ayon kay PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar, mali at walang katotohanan ang mga paratang ng international media.

Masyado aniyang malisyoso at hindi patas ang mga paratang dahil malinaw na ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) at ang Kongreso ang may saklaw sa usapin ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN.

Itinigil aniya ang operasyon ng ABS-CBN dahil sa kawalan ng prangkisa at hindi dahil lamang sa galit ng pangulo sa istasyon.

Sinabi pa ni Andanar na hindi usapin sa press freedom kundi usapin ito sa legislative franchise.

“It is, therefore, totally unfair and objectionable for some parties and some international media to insist that what happened to the network is due to “having incurred the ire” of the President. This assertion is remarkably erroneous, lacks objectivity and scant in factual basis. Simply, a false narrative,” pahayag ni Andanar.

Sinabi pa ni Andanar na hindi maikakaila na buhay ang demokrasya at malayang pamamahagagb sa bansa.

“This is not an issue of press freedom but an issue regarding legislative franchise. Democracy, and the free press and free speech that come with it, is very much alive in the country and effectively protected,” pahayag ni Andanar.
