Kapalaran ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN nasa Kongreso ayon sa Malakanyang
Ipinauubaya na ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang sa Kongreso ang pagpapasya sa kapalaran ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN.
Ito ay matapos mag off the air o mawala sa ere ang ABS-CBN kagabi bilang pagtalima sa utos ng National Telecoomunications Commission (NTC) na cease and desist order matapos mag expire ang kanilang prangkisa kahapon, May 4.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, maari namang gamitin ng ABS-CBN ang lahat ng legal na pamamaraan para maibalik ang operasyon.
“ABS-CBN is free to exhaust all legal remedies available to it,” ayon kay Roque.
Iginiit pa ni Roque na nasa kamay ng Kongreso at wala sa kamay ni Pangulong Duterte ang pagpapasya kung irerenew o hindi ang prangkisa ng ABS-CBN.
Pinasasalamatan aniya ng Palasyo ang ABS CBN dahil sa pagbibigay serbisyo publiko lalo na sa gitna ng nararanasang krisis sa COVID-19.
Sinabi pa ni Roque na tinanggap na ni Pangulong Duterte ang sorry ng ABS-CBN.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as a matter of record, accepted the apology of the network and left its fate to both houses of Congress. Let the public be informed that broadcast franchises are within the authority of Congress. It has discretion on what to do with the legislative franchise of ABS-CBN and other broadcasting companies similarly situated,” ayon kay Roque.
