CHED nakikipag-ugnayan sa DFA para mapauwi ang mga stranded na estudyante at faculty sa ibang bansa

Pinagsusumikapan ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) na matulungan ang 1,087 estudyante at faculty na stranded abroad na makauwi ng Pilipinas sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Sa virtual hearing ng House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, sinabi ni CHED chairman Prospero De Vera na nakikipag-ugnayan sa OWWA at DFA patungkol dito.

Sinabi ni De Vera na hindi nakauwi kaagad ng Pilipinas ang mga estudyante at faculty dahil sa kanilang ongoing internship.

Sa ngayon, 147 pa lamang aniya ang nakauwi ng bansa, habang 76 pa ang naghihintay para sa kanilang repatriation.

Sabi ni De Vera, umaasa lamang sila sa mga sweeper flight para sa repatriation ng mga apektadong estudyante at faculty matapos suspindehin ang public transportation makaraang isinailalim sa enhanced community quarantine ang buong Luzon noong Marso.
