Tax holiday para sa health workers isinusulong sa Kamara

Itinutulak ni Quezon City Rep. Precious Castelo na mabigyan ng tax holiday ang libu-libong medical frontliners na tumutulong sa paglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Sa ilalim ng panukalang Health Workers’ Tax Holiday Act of 2020, ang sahod ng mga kwalipikadong health worker sa loob ng dalawang buwan o mula March 15 hanggang May 15, 2020 ay hindi na isasama sa computation ng kanilang income tax.

Ibig sabihin, malilibre sa buwis ang kita nila sa loob ng dalawang buwan.

Sakop nito ang lahat ng nagtatrabaho sa mga ospital, health infirmaries, health centers, rural health units, barangay health stations, clinics, at iba pang health-related establishments, mapa-pribado man o pampubliko anuman ang kanilang employment status.

Sabi ng kongresista, itinataya ng health workers ang kanilang kaligtasan para mapangalagaan ang kalusugan ng publiko kaya naman nararapat lang na tumbasan ang kanilang kabayanihan bilang pasasalamat sa kanilang serbisyo.

Una nang itinakda ang pagbibigay ng special risk allowance sa medical frontliners sa ilalim ng Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
